Plans are now underway for the JHS Class of 66 Reunion....can you believe it's been 45 years since we graduated from high school? It seems like I'm only 45 years old, so how can this be??
Back to reality....here's what is planned thus far:
Arrive in Alex on Friday, September 23 and plan on meeting up with fellow classmates Friday evening. Watch for the location, but we're thinking it might be an easy, informal gathering at a local spot where we can rove around and renew acquaintances. I recently saw a picture of Bruce Phelps, and he looks so easily recognizable that I naturally assume everyone will be!
Saturday is Homecoming, so we'll march (or ride!) in the Homecoming parade starting at Noon. We'll be rounding up motorcycles, convertibles, pickup trucks and maybe a big wagon to caravan down Broadway together.
At 12:30, the community is invited to tailgate in the JHS parking lot, so we'll have a special section for our class.
At 3:00 on Saturday the Cardinals play the 2011 Homecoming Football Game! Let's cheer them on to victory!
At 6:00 we'll meet for our official Reunion gathering. More details on this next week.
And on Sunday morning, for those interested, a round of golf or meeting for brunch before heading off to parts unknown.
Sound exciting? I remember being in Alex about 20 years ago and asking our classmate Bill Davis what it was like to live in the same town as an adult where he grew up. Bill thought for a minute, then said, "Well, I live where everyone wants to go for vacation!"
Well said, Bill, and we wish you were still here to join us!
